Profenofos 40% EC CAS No. 41198-08-7

Profenofos is a broad-spectrum, highly effective organophosphate insecticide with medium toxicity and low residue characteristics. Its main mechanism of action is the inhibition of acetylcholinesterase in insects. Profenofos controls pests through systemic, contact, and stomach poison methods, exhibiting quick efficacy. It has good penetration on plant leaves and also possesses ovicidal properties. Profenofos is effective against cotton pests that have developed resistance to other organophosphates or pyrethroids. Additionally, it can be mixed with pyrethroid pesticides to enhance its effectiveness.

Application

Control of Rice Pests: Apply the pesticide 1 to 3 days before the peak hatching of the rice stem borer. Use 80-100 mL of 40% Profenofos emulsion diluted in water per mu for spraying. For the second generation borer, apply during the peak hatching period, using 40-50 mL of 720 g/L emulsion diluted in water per mu, targeting the lower parts of the rice plants. Maintain a water level of 3-5 cm in the field for 3-5 days during pest control.

Control of Cotton Pests: For cotton bollworm, apply during the peak oviposition to hatching period, using 80-100 mL of 40% Profenofos emulsion diluted in water per mu. For cotton aphid, apply during the early nymph stage, using 40-50 mL of 720 g/L emulsion diluted in water per mu for even spraying. For cotton red spider mites, apply during the seedling stage based on the infestation level, using 40-60 mL of 50% emulsion diluted in water per mu.

Control of Vegetable Pests: For diamondback moth on cruciferous vegetables, apply during the early larval stage, using 60-75 mL of 40% Profenofos emulsion diluted in water per mu. It is best to spray in the evening. For fall armyworm, apply during the early larval stage, using 80-100 g of 40% emulsion per mu, spraying before 9 AM or after 5 PM.

Control of Fruit Tree Pests: When the density of citrus leaf mites reaches 2-3 mites per leaf, apply using a 2000-3000 times dilution of 50% Profenofos emulsion for even spraying. When the density of apple tree leaf mites reaches 2-3 mites per leaf, apply using a 2000-4000 times dilution of 40% emulsion for even spraying.

Control of Sweet Potato Root-Knot Nematodes: Apply during sweet potato transplanting, using 2000-3000 g of 10% Profenofos granules mixed with fine sand for furrow or hole application per mu.
