Flumetralin PGR 95% TC 125g/L EC 25% SC

Flumetralin is a plant growth regulator. It inhibits the division rate of cells in the plant apical meristem. This promotes the transition from vegetative growth to reproductive growth. It acts as a contact and locally systemic growth retardant. Plants readily absorb flumetralin. It mainly affects the enzyme systems within plants. The compound increases the content of chlorophyll and proteins. Its mechanism of action involves binding to microtubule proteins. This occurs in the plant apical meristem. Flumetralin prevents motor proteins from transporting microtubule proteins. This leads to a loss of polymerization. It controls the division rate of the apical meristem cells. This action helps promote the transition from vegetative to reproductive growth. Flumetralin influences the growth and development of plants.

Application

By using flumetralin for chemical topping, the cotton plants have a compact growth habit and retain their upper leaves. The overall canopy has good light transmission, and the lower leaves of the canopy mature more slowly than those subjected to manual topping, thus extending the photosynthesis time of the lower leaves. The leaf area index in the middle section of the cotton is significantly lower than that of manual topping treatment. The chemical defoliation effect is improved by 26% to 35% compared to manual topping, enhancing the harvesting efficiency of machine-picked cotton, reducing leaf residue, and improving the quality of machine-picked cotton processing.

1. By controlling the mitotic division of cells at the growing points of lateral branches, new shoots, and leaf buds, we can shorten the internodes of the main stem and fruit branches. This adjusts the cotton plant shape to a tower-like structure, achieving a shaping and slimming effect.

2. Delaying the field closing time greatly improves the ventilation and light transmission conditions in the field, effectively reducing the density of the crop. At the same time, increasing the population density enhances the efficiency of fertilizer and water use, leading to an increase in single boll weight and seed cotton weight.

3. By regulating the transition from vegetative growth to reproductive growth during the flowering period of cotton, the bolls on the first to fifth fruit branches can set more securely and are less prone to dropping. This promotes early maturity and increases single boll weight while avoiding the formation of empty fruit branches.

Five to seven days after manual topping, combined with chemical control, the application of both mepiquat chloride and flumetralin can effectively suppress the growth of new shoots and flower drop, eliminating the need for additional manual topping.
