Fomesafen 250g/L SL CAS 72178-02-0 for Weed Killer

Fomesafen is a highly selective post-emergence herbicide for soybean and peanut fields, effectively controlling broadleaf weeds and nutgrass. It also provides some efficacy against grassy weeds. The herbicide is absorbed by the roots and leaves of the weeds, causing them to quickly yellow and die. Rainfall occurring 4-6 hours after application does not affect its efficacy, and it is safe for soybeans.

Application

Fomesafen is a selective herbicide that belongs to the category of long-residual herbicides. Its application mainly focuses on soybean fields, where it is used to control annual broadleaf weeds such as hemp dogbane, redroot pigweed, giant pigweed, common pokeweed, bindweed, shepherd’s purse, and lamb’s quarters. This herbicide is applied when soybeans have 1-3 trifoliate leaves and the weeds are in the 1-3 leaf stage. The recommended dosage is 68-132 milliliters of a 25% water-soluble formulation per acre, diluted in 20-30 kilograms of water for an even spray on the weed foliage. Adding an appropriate amount of non-ionic surfactant to the solution can enhance its efficacy. Flumioxazin is safe for soybeans but is sensitive to crops like corn and sorghum, as well as vegetables. Care should be taken to avoid contaminating these crops to prevent phytotoxicity. Additionally, flumioxazin has a long residual period in the soil, and if applied at excessive rates, it may cause varying degrees of phytotoxicity to sensitive crops planted in the following year. Therefore, it is essential to strictly adhere to the recommended dosage and select safe subsequent crops.
