Biopesticide

Biopesticide include formulations derived from plants, animals, bacteria, fungi and minerals and are used as pesticides to control insects, nematodes, weeds, plants and fungal diseases on crops. As an alternative to chemical pesticides, biopesticides are naturally based products, and can be less toxic to non-target organisms, including humans and beneficial insects, than chemical options typically are, and they are biodegradable. These products can control pests and diseases by disrupting a pest’s behaviour, growth, development or reproduction and help maintain a natural balance in an ecosystem.
