CLOFENTEZINE SC

Clofentezine 20%WP, 50%SC, 80%WDG, 95%TC

The main mechanism of Clofentezine is to interfere with the normal metabolism of pest mites’ nervous systems, damaging their tissues, which ultimately leads to their death. Clofentezine is a contact acaricide that operates through both a closed contact kill and pressure infiltration method. It quickly dissolves the waxy cuticle layer of pest mites, allowing the active ingredient to penetrate directly into their bodies, leading to the closure of their spiracles and resulting in suffocation and death.

Features of Clofentezine

1. Ovicidal Effect: Clofentezine has a strong ovicidal effect on pest mite eggs, capable of preventing the hatching of most eggs.

2. Larvicidal Effect: It also demonstrates high activity against larval mites, effectively inhibiting their growth and development.

3. Long Residual Period: The efficacy of the drug is stable, generally lasting for 50-70 days. After application, it maintains over 90% effectiveness for 15-20 days.

4. Temperature Adaptability: Clofentezine has strong adaptability to temperature, remaining effective in both high and low temperature environments without being affected by low temperatures.

Application

In orchards or vineyards, spraying a Clofentezine 0.04% emulsion at 50% concentration before the winter eggs hatch can control plant-feeding leaf mites throughout the entire season. In a four-year field trial, applying doses of 500 mg/L and 400 mg/L twice effectively controlled the spider mite (Tetranychus urticae) on apple and peach trees. In summary, this pesticide is effective against the spider mite (apple red spider), has a long-lasting effect, primarily acts as an ovicide, provides some control against juvenile stages, and does not affect predatory mites or beneficial insects. It can be used on apples, ornamental plants, peas, citrus, and cotton, with applications made once before and once after the flowering period.

For controlling citrus red spiders, the recommended concentration for a Clofentezine 10% wettable powder and a 25% suspension is 100-125 mg/L, while for controlling leaf mites and red spiders on apple trees, the recommended concentration is 85-100 mg/L.
