Application
First, Fosthiazate is most effective when applied to the soil. It can kill nematodes in the soil and also eliminate those that enter the root system through the root tips via systemic absorption.
Second, in fields with a high nematode population, it is advisable to combine Fosthiazate application with physical control methods such as irrigation and soil covering.
Third, Fosthiazate can be used in conjunction with abamectin. In fields with a light nematode infestation, abamectin can be used for prevention, while Fosthiazate can serve as a remedy. In fields with a heavy nematode infestation, thiazophos can be used for prevention, with abamectin as a remedy.
Finally, Fosthiazate can be mixed with chitosan or oligochitosan. Both can inhibit nematode growth and release oligosaccharins to promote nematode death, while also enhancing the crop’s immune capacity to resist pests and diseases.
Using two pesticides with different mechanisms can reduce resistance and decrease the amount of pesticide needed.
