Imazapyr is a new broad-spectrum herbicide of the imidazolinone class, primarily functioning as an inhibitor of side-chain amino acid synthesis. Application

Imazapyr can be used both pre-emergence and post-emergence. The application rates for non-cultivated land range from 0.25 to 2.5 kg (active ingredient) per hectare, while for rubber and oil palm plantations, the rate is 0.125 to 1.0 kg (active ingredient) per hectare. For forestry, the recommended rate is 0.25 to 1.25 kg (active ingredient) per hectare, and for tea gardens, it is 0.1 to 2.0 kg (active ingredient) per hectare. Additionally, applying or injecting the herbicide can prevent the sprouting of deciduous tree stumps.

When used for weeding along railways, roads, factories, warehouses, ditches, and in forestry, the application rate is 500 to 2000 g per hectare, effectively controlling most annual and perennial herbaceous plants as well as woody plants. It can be used for soil treatment and post-emergence foliar treatment, with post-emergence treatment being more effective.

For foliar treatment, a non-ionic surfactant at a concentration of 0.25% should be added to the solution. After 2 to 4 weeks, herbaceous plants will lose their green color and exhibit tissue degradation. Within one month, young leaves of trees may turn red or brown, and some tree species may completely shed their leaves within three months, ultimately leading to their death.
