Metribuzin is a selective, systemic herbicide that can be used on crops such as soybeans, potatoes, tomatoes, alfalfa, peas, carrots, sugarcane, bamboo shoots, and pineapples to control various broadleaf and grassy weeds. It can be applied as a pre-emergence or post-emergence herbicide to manage a wide range of broadleaf and grassy weeds in fields of asparagus, alfalfa, potatoes, soybeans, sweet potatoes, tomatoes, and other crops.

Metribuzin is highly effective against weeds such as smartweed, amaranth, lambsquarters, shepherd’s purse, wild sesame, purslane, wild carrot, and field bindweed. It has moderate efficacy against burdock and black nightshade, and some effectiveness against foxtail, barnyard grass, crabgrass, wild oats, and wild barley, but is generally ineffective against perennial weeds. It can also control algae.

Application

  1. For soybean fields, after sowing spring soybeans and before emergence, apply 53-76 grams of 70% metribuzinwettable powder per acre, mixed with approximately 30 kilograms of water, and evenly spray on the soil surface. For summer soybeans, after sowing and before emergence, apply 33-57 grams of 70% wettable powder per acre, using the same method as for spring soybeans.
  2. For potato fields, apply after sowing and before emergence, using 66-76 grams of 70% metribuzinwettable powder per acre, mixed with 30 kilograms of water, and evenly spray on the soil surface. After emergence, it is generally recommended to apply when the potato plants are over 10 cm tall, as resistance may decrease and the risk of phytotoxicity may increase.
